Naperville woman accused of killing 2 kids due in court

A 40-year-old woman charged with killing two young children is due in court Thursday in DuPage County.

She is accused of killing her own 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl who she was babysitting. Authorities have identified the suspect as Elzbieta Plackowska. Police say she also stabbed two dogs to death.

The 5-year-old girl was a student at Brookdale Elementary. The 7-year-old boy attended Scott Elementary.

“This is an extremely difficult time, but this is an extremely strong community and I’m confident in this community and our school district that we will pull together and move through this tragic event,” said Supt. Dan Bridges, Naperville School district 203.

Police say it happened at a Baperville townhome late Tuesday night. The suspect’s neighbors say they didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

“Ijust happened to notice them coming in and thought it was it was ordinary. They just seemed natural,” said neighbor Robbie Johnson.

Investigators aren’t saying what the motive was but The Daily Herald is reporting that the suspect said she heard demonic voices before stabbing the children.
